U15A Hurling Championship Semi Final
Hard luck to the U15s on their Semi Final loss to Sixmilebridge yesterday evening in Tulla.
The Magpies lead by 2-3 to 0-0 in the first 10 minutes with Sean Meere scoring the first goal of the game in the first minute followed by points from Killian Casey (65), Ruairi Keogh (free) while the impressive Jack Ellingstad scored Clarecastle second goal followed by a point.
Sixmilebridge soon settled in the 12th minute and responded with two goals. Eoghan Geers and Jack Ellingstad kept their side ahead with a point each from play. In the remaining 10 minutes of the first half Sixmilebridge were rewarded five frees and were all on target from free taker Rory Chaplin to level the game at half time on a score of 2-5 to 2-5.
Magpies commenced the second half with a point through Jack Ellingstad in the first minute which was followed by a point from the Bridge and a 65 from Killian Casey in the 37th minute.
From there until the end of the second half, the Bridge side made better use of their possession that came their way pushing on scoring 2-5 without reply. Despite a late goal through Tom Slattery in the 34th minute the cap was too much for the Magpies as their opponents had pushed on to earn a final spot against Ballyea.
Special mention to Goalkeeper, Barry Murphy who managed some amazing saves throughout the game.
Full Time Score:
Clarecastle: 3-7
Sixmilebridge: 4-11
