Well done to Clarecastle/Ballyea Ladies Football team who were the finalists in the Community Games this morning winning silver medals in the U14 competition.

This was the first time in a number of years we have fielded a football team and a great morning was had in Éire Óg.

In our first match we defeated Clooney/Quin on a scoreline of 4-5 to 0-2. The girls advanced to the final where we came up against a very strong Ballynacally/Lissycasey team who went on to win the gold medals in the final. Our girls showed huge spirit and commitment from start to finish.

Many thanks to all the girls who took part today from Clarecastle and Ballyea. Great teamwork and skills were evident all over the pitch.
