A fantastic win for our U15 Academy Hurlers this evening in a hard-earned game against Tulla. The homeside raced into an early lead with a goal from Darragh O’Callaghan after 5 minutes. Tulla responded with 2 pointed frees while further scores from O’Callaghan (0-3) and Gavin McEnery (0-1) gave their side a 5-point lead at half time.

Tulla played their way back into the game scoring 5 unanswered points. Magpies responded with a point after 10 minutes of play. A further 1-1 from the visitors gave their side a three point lead with 10 minutes remaining.

The lads never gave up and responded with two well taken goals through Eoin Kearney to put his side back in front and further points from Daniel Quinn (1), Gavin McEnery (1) and Callaghan (1) ended the game with a six-point victory.

Next round is against Ballyea on Sunday evening at 6.30pm in Ballyea.
