Clarecastle/Ballyea 1-11 Clooney/Quin 1-13

In damp conditions, a strong first half performance from Clooney/Quin against Clarecastle/Ballyea helped them secure the Minor A Shield Final yesterday afternoon in Clarecastle with a 7 point advantage at the interval.

The girls found their rhythm in the second half with an excellent comeback scoring points through Hannah Mai Neylon, Aoife Murphy & Aisling Costello and a goal from Evie Scanlon in the 12th minute to leave the score a 2 point game by the second water break.

Although our side replied with points in the final quarter through Emma O’Loughlin and Aisling Costello it wasn’t enough as Clooney/Quin kept driving forward to notch up further points from Emma Quinn & Clodagh Quinn to seal a two point victory.

The girls can be hugely proud of their effort and ability they showed all year, hard luck ladies!
