U14B 2020 Camogie Final

Clarecastle 1-10 v. St. Joseph’s Doora Barefield 2-11

St. Joseph’s Doora Barefield came out on top in what was an intense and thrilling game of camogie which contributed some great display of skill from both sides at Fr. Mc Namara Pitch this evening.

In what was a seesaw first half our girls got off to a great start with 3 points from Gillan Scanlon within the first four minutes. Doora Barefield scored their first point after 5 minutes while Aoife Murphy responded with a pointed free. Our opponents hit back by adding 0-4 to their tally while Gillan Scanlon added two points to levelled the game at the interval.

The Magpies got off to a dream start in the second half with scores from Evie Scanlon (0-1) and a goal from a well taken free from Aoife Murphy, but Doora Barefield responded by adding a further 0-2 to their side. Further points from Lauren Cusack & Evie Scanlon gave Clarecastle a three point lead which was soon to be overturned when Doora Barefield scored their first goal to reduce the margin to 2 points. Gillan Scanlon scored her 6th point in the 45th minutes which was the last score for her side. A second goal after the second water break and a further 0-3 was enough for Doora Barefield to hold onto a 4 point victory.
