Clarecastle vs Sixmilebridge
U17A Hurling Championship Final
Hard luck to Clarecastle, who were narrowly beaten by Sixmilebridge after a tense and hard-fought encounter this afternoon in the U17A Hurling Championship Final at Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chíosóg.
The Magpies started strongly, with early scores from Rory Ralph, Seán Meere, Ruairi Keogh, Diarmuid Egan, Harry O’Donoghue, Jack Ellingstad, and Killian Casey giving them early control of the game. Ralph’s accuracy from frees was a key factor as Clarecastle edged into a three-point lead at the break on a score of 0-11 to 0-8.
In the second half, Clarecastle’s scores came from placed balls through the reliable Rory Ralph.
A few missed opportunities from play allowed Sixmilebridge to gain momentum and work their way back into the game. The sides were level at 0–14 a piece with 25 minutes gone setting up a tense finish.
However, Sixmilebridge found their rhythm in the closing stages, striking three unanswered points during the final minutes and added time to seal the win.
Despite Clarecastle’s determined effort right to the final whistle, Sixmilebridge held on to claim a three-point victory. Congratulations to Sixmilebridge on their win.
