Our U14 boys gave it everything today in their final against a strong Inagh-Kilnamona side.
After a dominant first half, with early scores from Oisín Plunkett and Finn Ellingstad (C) the lads went into the break with a well-deserved 5 point lead. Jay Corry made a great impact between the posts, pulling off some fine saves and showing great composure throughout.
But Inagh-Kilnamona came out firing in the second half, hitting the net several times in quick succession. Despite the setback, our boys showed incredible heart and true grit, battling for every ball right to the final whistle and finding the net twice themselves. Their determination and fighting spirit were a credit to themselves, their coaches, and their club.
It just wasn’t to be today, but what a season these young lads have had. Every one of them has put in the hard graft all year, and we couldn’t be prouder.
And the season isn’t over yet as the lads are back in action next weekend as they contest the U14 football final against Western Gaels. Best of luck to the boys and management as they go again.
Huge thanks to the management team Kieran, Eric, Stephen O’H, Ken, and Darragh for their time, dedication, and guidance made even more possible by the sideline admin support roles filled by Siobhan and Olivia.
A special mention to Kieran McDermott for his fantastic ball wall sessions, Jake Kearney for his brilliant support with our goalkeepers and Eoghan Wallace for S&C.
This is only the beginning for this talented group. There are plenty of great days ahead for these boys in the black and white. 🖤🤍🖤🤍
Thank you to all the parents for your support throughout the season, and especially for putting on a lovely post-match spread today.
Special shout-out to Ciarán Kelly for the brilliant team photos and for capturing the action so well 📸📸
Well done lads, you did your club proud 🏁🏁
