Clarecastle are through to the Semi-Final of the U17A Hurling Championship after an excellent second half performance against Clooney/Quin this morning in Clarecastle.⚫️⚪️
First half was a tight start early on with Clooney/Quin getting three unanswered points edging in front, but a brilliant goal in the 20th minute from Sean Kelly settled the Magpies and points from the accurate Rory Ralph (3f), Diarmuid Egan and Fionn Plunkett ensured Clarecastle went in at the break ahead by the minimum on a score of 1-8 to 0-10.
In the start of the second half Rory Ralph (0-3), Daragh McDonnell, Harry O’Donoghue, and Kiernan Sheridan all added important scores.
Substitute Sam Kelly added fresh legs in the final
quarter while our defence led superbly by Barry Murphy, Tadhg Duffy, Fionn Plunkett and Tom Slattery helped their side pull away outscoring Clooney/Quin 0-14 to 0-5 in the second half as the Magpies powered on to a 10-point win to earn a place in the semi final.
