U17A Hurling Championship Rd 1 (Rescheduled)
Clarecastle overcame Tulla in the U17A Hurling Championship this evening in Clarecastle.
The Magpies got off to a good start with a goal and a point from Sam Kelly inside the opening minute. Tulla struck back with a goal of their own, but a superb finish from Ruairi Keogh and scores from Rory Ralph and Jack Ellingstad ensured Clarecastle went in at the break ahead on a score of 2-8 to 1-9.
Second half was point for point throughout, but the Magpies held on with Rory Ralph’s accuracy from frees and scores from Jack Ellingstad, Killian Casey and Tom Slattery kept Clarecastle ahead. A strong defensive effort saw off the late Tulla effort, and the lads finished out a deserved three-point win.
