Congratulations to Oliver Plunkett Snr. on becoming Clarecastle GAA Club President for 2025 at our annual  ceremony this afternoon.

Today we fondly remember those who have passed away particularly in the last 12 months, a special mass for deceased members was followed by the traditional wreath laying ceremony at the commemorative stone.

We wish Oliver all the best in his new role and also pay special mention to outgoing President Greg Fogarty who has brought great enthusiasm and distinction to the club for many years.

Thank you to Fr. Pat for celebrating the mass which incorporate the Irish language, with elements of Gaeilge woven into the rituals as part of our Seachain na Gaeilge weekend. 

Finally thank to our Irish Culture Officer Síle for organising the prayers and the readings and to Kate Power and her Clarecastle Children’s Choir who performed hymns trí gaeilge which were sang beautifully.
